presentations - review

Nacho:

TRAVELCHERS

We could see that the group was organized, maybe kind of nervous because of the pressure of having all the class taking notes in front of them but they did good. Because they met a lot of times it was easy to see that they were cordinated, performed as a group and they made a good use of the power point using interesting videos like "the lion king" to show us what group work is. They overcome the pressure coming from the questions that were made by the teacher helping each other when they needed to, and the content of the presentation was very clear and organized. For all of those reasons our group thinks they deserve and 8.5 and we hope they keep working as they did in this presentation that made us understand what cooperative learning is

LOS GOCHOS

I think that Los Gochos made a really good work, but we could see in the presentation who was the head of the group by far. I think that is kind of a mistake from them because in a cooperative learning all the parts of the group should use the same amount of time when they are exposing, and when I say this I don't mean that they didn't work outside the same amount of time. The content of the presentation was very good explained despite they couldn't put in practice the technique they selected to show us how we can work as a group. But that is not their failure, I think that it's a mistake that some groups are able to do their activity and others don't, this should change in the next classes because for me, it's unfair, and it's not a fault from the group. In terms of originality the activity was good but other groups were more original I would say. The presentation was well organized and the parts of the group were able to reply the questions from the teacher by themselves, without needing the help of their partners because all of them knew about almost everything.

EDUCATION LEAGUE REVIEW

I'll start talking about originality. This group was by far the most original of all the presentations. They showed us how can we use cooperative learning to perform as a group and the activity they did was fantastic. Separating the class in three groups(Agile, porters and helpers) classifying what those groups are specialized in and then grouping those mixed for a cooperative work. They definitely showed us how can cooperative learning matter so hard in acrosport, and all the group performed as one highlighting the importance of trust in your partners and the satisfaction of a well done project. About the content of the presentation I think it was focused from a different perspective, not from the theory but from the practice. Really good work from their part.

FERNWEH REVIEW

I think that this group despite the problems they had at the time of meeting outside the class, worked fine and showed us their perspective of cooperative learning. The presentation was pretty good and the website they created looks cool. Talking about the benefits of cooperative learning is a good way to motivate the group to work as a whole. The activity using the jigsaw method needed to be a bit more explicative because I found myself lost at some point but I think they will improve this because they will be more puzzled with the time and the works. Also I saw a difference between the parts of the group that knew more about the topic and the ones that need to improve this aspect. Courage guys!

SOFA SESSIONS REVIEW

I couldn't attend to this presentation because I was hospitalized but my team mates can tell you what you need to know about Sofa Sessions work!

TRAVLECHERS REVIEW - Members: Tania, Mª José, Rania, Javier, Vanesa. From my point of view, Travelchers seemed like they have worked together very hard and have achieved all their group and personal goals. It can be seen that every member of the group has its own strengths and weakness. Their presentation was very clean about all the theory and it looks like they had used their own words, and not copied all the theory literally. The information was clear and the explanation dynamic. They also showed us so much creativity by putting the Lion King as an example of what they were trying to explain. The activity of the Legos was an interesting way to make someone to help other to do something he/she knows to do, working with this in the cooperative learning. One problem that I see they had was the way of explain the activity of the Legos. It was a bit confusing and the confusion lead to a moment of chaos. One suggestion for this activity could be that every member of the group was in charge of every single group to explain the activity, and when they had finished, start the activity.

EDUCATION LEAGUE REVIEW - Members: Jorge, Leyre, Jose, Irene, Nuria. The members of the the group have shown their originality probably in one of the most original presentations that I have ever seen. With this I mean that the use of costumes inspired in superheroes made the presentation more entertainment and original. One of the most remarkable things that I have seen is that one of the members was very shy and he overcome the problem and made a great presentation. The theoretical part was explained in a short and enjoyable way, but this made that the theory had a lack of deep in the topic. Their activity was very interesting and very original, using Acrosport to develop the cooperative learning. To sum up, this group has a very original presentation and a very original activity, which made the theory easier to understand.

LOS GOCHOS - Members: Raquel, Celeste, Cristina, Miguel, Umaima. The first thing I realized is that they achieved their goals and made a great teamwork achieving the common goals. Something I realized is that some members of the team had longer interventions than others, which means that the task were not equally distributed but, leaving this apart, I think they know everyone's part and they give support to other teammates. They have focused on trust and classroom motivation, something that is very important when we talk about cooperative learning. Compared to other presentations, I think this is the most complete of all. The activity they prepared was a perfect example of how cooperative learning works and the use of the other types of teams that exist. Although they explained the rules of the activity, these were always displayed on the screen, making them visible for anyone who hasn't clear what he has to do.

FERNWEH REVIEW - Members: Alicia, Sergio, Mónica, Laura, Celia. The presentation started with their activity: the members of a team need to put a blanked to the other side without getting out of it. This is an original way of starting a presentation and gives a perfect example of what they are going to explain. About the presentation itself, it has all the information needed, not less, not more. All this information was known by every member of the team, being able to answer all the question that they have been asked. A problem that, probably not only me saw, is that they didn't seem too much confident between them and this probably could have made an improvement in the presentation. About the rest of the presentation, the topics were easy to follow and understand, and for the activity they used the "Jigsaw" method, which is an interesting methodology to learn about cooperative learning.

SOFA SESSIONS - Members: Nacho, Angélica, Isabel, Marta, Blanca. This group did a really good job gathering all the information that the other teams missed because they were the last group to do the presentation. The presentation was very good structured and it slides are original and colorful. It has also some details that make easier to follow and make you get interested on it. The theory was well explained, but it wasn't equally distributed between all the team members. They may have reached their individual goals, but they need to communicate better inside the group. They also knew all the theory, making possible to answer questions that were not about their part. For the activity, they used the "Jigsaw" technique and used a short video to explain it. They also used expert and base teams to do this activity, making the students search information about a topic and then explain it to their teammates in the base team.
